The early voting took place on April 22-23 in the states of Virginia and Maryland. This initiative aimed to provide citizens the opportunity to exercise their constitutional rights. Approximately 400 citizens participated in this process.
During conversations with fellow citizens, the importance of the rule of law and justice was acknowledged, as well as the special attention given to human dignity in the updated Constitution. A specific article has been added to protect the rights and interests of our citizens abroad.
In addition, there was a dialogue regarding the conditions, needs, and challenges faced by our fellow compatriots. Discussions focused on ways to collaboratively address these issues and the consular services that should be provided. Consultations on consular and legal matters were held, and questions and answers were exchanged with the citizens in attendance.
Alongside these political events, cultural and educational activities were organized. Notably, the opening ceremony of the “Virginia Uzbek Cultural Center” was one of the most significant aspects of these events, and our fellow compatriots warmly welcomed this development.
Speaking at the ceremony, the head of the embassy and a representative of the Uzbekistan Muslim Administration stated that the center would serve to unite our fellow compatriots living in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington. It will organize various cultural and educational events with their participation and promote the native language, culture, traditions, and historical heritage among the youth. The speaker emphasized that this would contribute to fostering a stronger connection between the younger generation and their homeland.
